Makeup powder base

Make up base 1
8 g talcum powder
6 g magnesium stearate
4 g potato starch
(Recipe from Smink och deo by Finn Andersen)

Makeup base 2
1 part rice starch
1 part mica satin white

Makeup base 3
3 tbs titanium dioxide
2 tsp magnesium stearate
1-2 tsp mica satin white

Combine all ingredients using a wooden grill skewer or chop stick. Using a fine sieve such as a tea strainer, sift the mixture once or twice. Make a big batch and keep for later use.

Eyeliner

4 ml makeup base

2-4 ml black pigment (iron oxide or mica)

1 ml body lotion

If using iron oxides, grind the powder well in a mortar or ziplock bag. Mix well with the makeup base, then add the lotion. Press the mixture down into an old makeup container.

To use, apply with a slightly wet eyeliner brush just above the eyelashes.

Banana lime face mask

1 ripe banana
1 tbs lime juice (freshly pressed, if possible)

Mix ingredients, mash the banana with a fork or in a blender if necessary. Spread over face, leave on for up to 15 minutes.

Guacamole face mask

1 ripe avocado
1 large tomato
2 tbs lemon juice

Blend ingredients until smooth. If you like, you can leave the avocado skin and kernel in the mixture, and you’ll get a bit of a scrub effect. Apply to face and neck, leave on for max 15 minutes. Risen with warm water

Massage oil

3 tbs olive oil, sunflower seed oil or almond oil
1 tbs sesame seed oil
1 ml / 1 capsule of vitamin E (optional, to increase shelf life)
10-15 drops of essential oil

Combine all ingredient in a bottle. For use on very sensitive skin and intimate areas, leave out the essential oils.

Some essential oil suggestions:

Against cellulites: rosemary, lemon, geranium, grapefruit, basil, patchouli, orange
Calming: rosewood, lavender, orange, ylang-ylang,
Romantic: lavender, ylang-ylang
Refreshing: peppermint, basil, lemon, grapefruit, rosemary
After sports: lemongrass, peppermint, rosemary

Green clay tumeric face mask

1 tsp honey
1-2 tsp green clay
1 tsp tumeric

Combine ingredients, apply to face and neck. Rinse off with warm water, or leave on for up to 15 minutes.

1 tbs plain greek yogurt
1 tbs green clay or other clay

Combine ingredients, apply t face and neck. Leave on for 15 minutes, rinse with warm water

Green clay face mask

1 tbs green clay (or other clay)
1 egg

Whisk the egg lightly, then add about the clay, whisk some more until mixed. Apply to face and neck, leave on for 15 minutes or until the mixture is starting to dry. Rinse with warm water.

Herbal cleansing milk

2 dl (1 cup) milk
2 tbs fresh herbs (clover flowers, nettles, birch, rose, daisy, dandelion….)
1-2 tbs honey

Combine milk and herbs in a pot, simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat, leave to cool slightly. Strain away flower, then add the honey. Wash your face and neck. Save in the fridge, will last you all weekend.

Birch leaf shampoo / soap

Birch contains saponins and will give you smooth and clean hair. You can also use it as a body wash.

1 dl fresh birch leaves
1 liter lukewarm or hot water

Combine birch leaves with water in a bag or bottle, making sure it’s not completely full. Shake the bottle until it starts foaming somewhat. Remove/strain leaves and rinse your hair with the water.
